Privacy in plain language. Echo connects people who are nearby and is designed around temporary conversations. The website you are viewing does not install analytics or tracking cookies. Nearby peers may still receive information you decide to share, and device/hosting providers have separate data practices.
At a glance
Echo is a nearby social and collaboration application. It uses a temporary “bubble” concept to help people share conversations and activities in the same local environment. This notice covers this marketing website and general information about the app.
We aim to be transparent about what the app makes visible to peers, what is kept on a device and what may be handled by operating-system or distribution partners. Actual handling may differ by version, device and optional features. If the published app's data practices change, this notice must be updated to match them.
Who to contact
For privacy questions concerning Echo, the contact shown on this site is the Echo/Cypher support contact: youngboysincoperated@gmail.com, telephone +44 7774 103172.
The applicable developer/publisher identity and postal contact details can be found in the relevant app store's developer-information section. Please contact us if you require the full legal identity of the responsible operator.
Data processed on this website
This static website contains no accounts, trackers, advertising pixels, external fonts, third-party JavaScript, behavioral analytics, or cookies in the files provided. The contact form composes a message in your own email application; it does not submit personal data to a website server.
Nevertheless, your hosting provider may receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, and access timestamps in web server/security logs. That provider's processing, retention and international transfers must be reviewed for your chosen deployment. This website cannot disable those infrastructure logs itself.
Following Google Play, Microsoft Store, WhatsApp, telephone or email links takes you to other services with their own privacy practices.
Information used by the Echo app
Depending on which features you use and the app version, the following categories may be processed locally or shared with approved nearby participants:
- Profile information: a display name, optional picture, temporary alias, and optionally a phone number or handle you choose to share.
- Proximity and connectivity: permissions and signals used to discover nearby peers, approximate location or bubble membership, connection/session identifiers, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi information and local-network addresses. Other devices or routers may see network metadata.
- Content you choose to share: temporary chat messages, photos and files, poll answers, whiteboard marks, event posts, bookings, SOS messages or check-in status.
- Preferences and local storage: optional kept contacts, notification preferences, profile settings and locally downloaded files.
- Device-side notifications: notification text may appear in operating-system notifications or history while that feature is enabled.
Do not share anything in Echo that you would not want the intended recipient to receive or copy.
Why information is used
Echo processes relevant information to make nearby discovery, verified connections, communication, group collaboration, security checks and user-requested functionality possible. For users in jurisdictions requiring a lawful basis, the relevant basis may include performance of the requested service, consent for optional permissions/settings, and legitimate interests in safety/security where applicable. The precise basis for each processing activity should be confirmed against the production app and the responsible controller's operations.
Retention and deletion
Bubble chat history is designed to be session-limited and removed from the app's temporary conversation view when users leave. Kept contact details, locally saved profile preferences and downloaded media may persist until removed through app controls or the operating system. Files shared to another participant may remain in that participant's possession after you leave.
The website has no user database. Emails sent to support are stored by the respective email providers until handled and deleted according to applicable operational policies; hosting access logs have their own retention settings.
Security measures
Echo uses peer approval and session controls to limit accidental connections. Supported transports may encrypt content in transit; however, transport security, platform behavior, anonymity and delivery differ by device or feature. Temporary aliases do not conceal your IP address or all identifying information from other devices.
The marketing site uses no remotely hosted scripts. When deployed properly, use HTTPS, least-privilege hosting credentials and recommended security headers. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, or withdrawal of consent, and to complain to an applicable data protection authority. The scope depends on whether the responsible operator actually holds the data; peer-held or locally stored data may not be centrally retrievable.
For requests, contact the email listed above with an appropriate subject such as “Echo privacy request.” Do not send passwords, identity documents or confidential data unless a secure verification method is explicitly arranged.
Age and safety
Echo involves interaction with other people. Follow the applicable minimum age and content rating stated by your regional app store. Parents and guardians should review permissions and nearby communication risks. Echo is not intended to encourage sharing sensitive details with unknown people.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice if app features, website hosting or processing practices change. Material changes should be published here with an updated date. For questions or clarification, contact support.
